INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING AND SUPPORT
A significant role of the clinician is to provide individual counselling and support to the parent(s). Much of this individual work is exploring issues particular to them that are impacting on the attachment relationship and to address other issues that are current in their lives.
Counselling sessions are scheduled when the need arises to review goals, discuss progress and support agreed strategies for change. Sessions take place at the child care centre, within the participants home or at an agreed location and involves the Primary Care Giver / child care worker where indicated, to support the partnership in care.
